At Agent 007Smith LLC, we stand behind the keys we provide and the work we perform. Keys supplied and programmed by us include a 6-month limited warranty from the original date of service.
What’s covered at no charge
- Defects in a key or remote supplied by us.
- Failure of buttons, remote, proximity, or smart-key functions caused by a defective key.
- Programming-related problems resulting from our original service.
- Key-cutting defects, or a key that does not properly operate the lock or ignition because of our workmanship.
- Other defects directly attributable to the key, parts, programming, or workmanship provided by Agent 007Smith LLC.
How covered problems are resolved
When a problem is covered by this warranty, we will diagnose and, at our discretion, repair, reprogram, or replace the affected key or correct our original work at no additional charge.
What’s not covered
- Vehicle-related electrical or mechanical problems.
- Weak or failed vehicle batteries.
- Damaged antennas, immobilizer systems, ignition switches, locks, wiring, control modules, or other vehicle components.
- Pre-existing vehicle problems.
- Damage caused by another technician or subsequent vehicle repairs or programming.
- Lost or stolen keys.
- Physical abuse, impact damage, crushed or broken housings, pet damage, water or liquid damage, washing-machine damage, excessive heat, or other accidental damage.
- Modification or opening of the key by another party.
Diagnostic / Service-Call Charges
If you request a warranty callback and the problem is determined to be covered by our warranty, there is no charge for the warranty service.
If inspection determines that the key and our original work are functioning correctly and the problem is caused by the vehicle, external damage, another component, or another condition outside our warranty, the visit is not warranty work and a normal service-call and/or diagnostic fee may apply.
This distinction is important because a vehicle failing to recognize a key does not automatically mean the key itself is defective. Modern vehicle starting and keyless-entry systems depend on multiple vehicle components outside the key itself.
Warranty Claim Requirements
Warranty service applies to the original customer and original key/service provided by Agent 007Smith LLC. Proof of service may be required. The customer must provide reasonable access to the vehicle and key so the issue can be diagnosed before warranty coverage can be determined.
